11/12 UD Series 2 Review

I recently opened three packs of 11/12 Upper Deck Series 2 cards hoping to pull a Young Gun.  Any Young Gun would’ve done.  But alas, I found no Young Gun.  Moving right along, I did find the following cards in my packs:

Instant review of the cards comes in with a B+ from this addicted pack opener.  The cards themselves feature great photography, at least in my opinion.  Almost all photos are action shots which work great for hockey cards.  Unlike baseball or football, the majority of the action in a hockey game features players moving.  For this reason alone it is great to see action shots on hockey cards.  I also like the design of the cards.  Upper Deck has done a good job of leaving the majority of the card open for the photography and featuring small space near the bottom of the card (or side for horizontal cards) to feature player names, teams and positions.

There also weren’t too many inserts which I appreciate from a card set as well.  I was hoping for a Young Gun insert, but came up with 2 Victory Rookie cards (both Cody Eakin of the Caps) and one OPC Marquee Rookie (Louis LeBlanc) and one Hockey Heroes insert (1960’s).

For those that are still reading this far, here is a comprehensive list of all cards obtained from the three packs with some pictures mixed in:
